(E/I) = Excitatory/Inhibitory respectively.

(CON)  = Contralateral, I.e. the axon crosses the midline of the brain.

(IPSI) = Ipsilateral, or same side.

Using The List

The list contains all of the neurons I have found so far and the basic details available from open access literature, For neurons where many sub-types appear in the same pathway, e.g. retinal bipolar neurons, the first entry will be used as an overview, with following entries containing the different sub-types.

When neurons have multiple targets, AND will be used to describe neurons that target two different cell types and OR will be used to describe neurons that target one cell type out of a variety of cell types.
